The Northern League was founded in 1930 to be the second season of speedway racing in the United Kingdom for Northern British teams. The league was previously known as the English Dirt Track League but the addition of two Scottish teams prompted a name change. The league ran for 2 seasons before being amalgamated with the Southern League to form the National League. The league was dominated by Belle Vue Aces who won both season titles. [1]
